Cutting-edge hospitals and health care organizations

competitive marketplace. Steve knows and understands the importance of
gathering and reporting quantitative data to sell treatment, rehabilitation and
preventive services in this competitive environment. As Director of
Kosciusko Community Hospital’s (Warsaw, Indiana) Urgent Care,
Occupational Health, Managed Care, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and
Wellness Services,
he is responsible for the development and implementation of fully integrated health and wellness programs including therapeutic
exercise, nutrition, and disease management for corporations and the
community.
In
addition to his full-time job, Steve is the one of the developers of
Orion Outcomes the world's largest outcomes database for Cardiac and
pulmonary rehabilitation. He serves as vice-president for O rion
Software Development. Steve has authored
professional articles and
lectured nationally on topics related to outcomes, benchmarking and
continuous quality improvement.
In addition, he has presented on a variety of topics related to
Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Exercise Physiology, Fitness and
Wellness.
He is
an active member of several national organizations, which include the
American Association for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
(AACVPR) and the American Society of Exercise Physiologists (ASEP).
Steve is the current president o f
ASEP. In addition, he is very active in state organizations including
the Indiana Society for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (ISCVPR) and the Indiana Association of
Exercise Physiologists (IAEP). He is a founding member and past
president of the IAEP, serves on the ISCVPR board of directors and is a
past president. He chairs the ISCVPR outcomes committee and was a
member of the AACVPR outcomes committee.
In 1981, Steve graduated from
Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he received a
bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Corporate Wellness.
He received a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the
University of Minnesota in 1983. In 1998, Jungbauer received a
master’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan
University. Before joining
KCH, Jungbauer worked for Lutheran Hospital of Indiana as an Exercise
Physiologist and supervised Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and Pacemaker
Clinic and was Clinical Program Director for the Lutheran Weight
Management Center. He was an Assistant Professor of Physical Education
at Manchester College from 1985 until 1991. Prior to Manchester Steve
taught at Emory University in Atlanta and has continued to teach as an
adjunct faculty member at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Steve is married to Dr. Erin Jungbauer (Family Practice) and they
reside in Oswego, Indiana with their two children Sarah (11) and Rachel
(8).
